The Institute of Prison Law was founded in 1998 and exists to further the knowledge and the practice of prison law.

We do this by providing CPD training that is authorised by the Solicitors Regulation Authority, accredited by the Bar Standards Board, and delivered to our clients by a team of experts who are renowned in their field.

Certificate of Competency in Prison Law

This comprehensive course is split into eight core modules, with each one having its own DVD lecture by specialist prison law barrister Nick Armstrong, you are guided expertly through the subject. Each module has a multiple choice examination and if you pass each of them with a minimum 80% pass mark you are awarded the Certificate of Competency in Prison Law and can also display the 'OK Logo' which clients in custody know to look for.
